Using Components

Components are pre-built modules that let you add specific functionality to your ads or HTML documents. Each component has component-specific properties, and components can be controlled using events in the Events dialog. Here is the list of core components that come pre-set in Google Web Designer.

Using Custom Components

In addition to the built-in components, Google Web Designer supports custom components. Custom components extend the component and event environments to add functionality to ads created in Google Web Designer. Some custom components are available here. Learn how to build a custom component.

To install a Custom Component:

1. Download a custom component as a .ZIP file
2. In GWD, click the "+" button at the bottom of the components panel
3. In the dialog, select the .ZIP file and click "Open"

The custom component will appear at the bottom of the components list.

To remove a Custom Component:

1. Select the component in the components panel
2. Click the "delete" button at the bottom of the panel

Only custom components can be removed from the components panel.
